Most rings are made in thousands and sold to whoever stops walking. A custom piece reverses the whole machine: the brief comes first, the stone is found and read against it, and the setting exists for one reason. For a house built on reading stones, custom is not a premium service. It is the natural way to work.
The commission, step by step
- The brief
- One conversation: the hand, the life it will live, the budget. We work to your number without judgement.
- The stone
- We source natural or lab-grown candidates through the trade and read each one. You see the few that survived, in daylight, with their reports.
- The design
- Drawn for your stone and approved by you before metal moves. Nothing proceeds on assumption.
- The making
- 3 to 4 weeks in our Vancouver atelier. A 50 per cent deposit begins the work; the balance is due when the piece is ready.
- The check
- The same eye that chose the stone inspects the finished piece. Then it travels to you, fully insured.

A commission can also begin from a stone you already own. We read heirloom stones with the same discipline.
Why custom costs less than you expect here
Custom work elsewhere often carries a design surcharge on top of showroom margins. We carry no showroom, most of our work is made to order anyway, and our pricing is the same published arithmetic used for every piece: how this house prices. The premium you pay is for the stone and the work, not for the word custom.
Asked, answered plainly
How much does a custom engagement ring cost in Vancouver?
A custom piece with us is priced the same way as everything else: the stone at its honest price, the metal at weight, the atelier work, a house margin, rounded to a clean number. Most custom commissions land between CA$4,000 and CA$20,000, set by the stone you choose.
How does the custom process work?
One conversation to set the brief and budget. We source and read stones against it, you choose in person, the design is drawn and approved, and the piece is made in our Vancouver atelier in 3 to 4 weeks. A 50 per cent deposit begins the commission.
Can I use my own diamond or a family stone?
Yes. We read the stone first, tell you plainly what it is and what it can carry, and design the setting for it. Heirloom stones deserve the same reading a purchased one gets.
