The House Stands Behind It
The Dagarias Guarantee
Four promises and one plain limit, all of them on this page. Matched to its report, checked within 7 days of delivery. Made correctly, or put right for 24 months. 30 days to be sure on a loose stone, 48 hours on a piece. Trade-up for life on natural stones.
01
Matched to its report, or refunded, within 7 days
Every loose stone we sell carries its own grading report from an independent laboratory, and a finished piece its jewellery report; the stone in your hand must be the stone on that paper. Check it when it arrives. If it is not the stone described, write to us within 7 days of delivery and we repair, replace, or refund in full, at no cost to you and with the return insured by us. The grade is not ours to give, so it is not ours to bend. This window is our own promise and it sits on top of your consumer rights rather than in place of them: those run far longer, and nothing here asks you to give them up.
02
Made correctly, or put right, for 24 months
A piece can fail for two reasons, and only one of them is ours. If it fails because it was not made correctly, we put it right for 24 months from delivery: repaired, or replaced or refunded where a repair cannot return it to specification. If it fails because of what happened to it, we will still fix it, and we will quote you for the work. Metal keeps a record of which of the two occurred, and every piece that comes back is read under magnification, with the finding written down and sent to you either way. What counts as each, and what falls outside the guarantee entirely, is set out below rather than left to a phrase like "fair wear and tear".
03
Time to be sure
A loose stone ships as it is, so it carries a true return: send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, unworn, certification intact, insured return shipping arranged by us. Live with it. Look at it in your own light. If it isn't right, it comes back and your money comes back with it. A piece is different, because your piece does not exist yet. Buy one by card on this site and we do not begin making it for 48 hours: change your mind inside that window and you are refunded in full. After it, production begins, and that is not the end of the matter. When the finished piece reaches you, you have 10 days to send it back: take house credit, worth what you paid plus 10% on a first return, or take your money back to the card you paid with. We pay the return shipping either way. Buy a piece through a written quote instead, above the direct-purchase limit or whenever you would rather talk to a person, and there is no clock at all: a commission begins, and becomes non-refundable, when you countersign the written quote. The deposit is taken at that moment and not before. Until then nothing is owed.
04
Trade-up for life, on natural stones
A natural diamond from this house never loses its price to us. Whenever you choose, a year from now or thirty, trade it toward any natural stone priced at least 2x the original, and 100% of what you paid for the stone counts toward the new one. Forever, one active trade at a time. The anniversary upgrade, the milestone stone: already half-arranged.

What it does not cover, said first rather than last
Jewellery is worn, and wearing it marks it. That is not a fault and we will not treat it as one. These are the signs we read as a making fault, which we put right:
- porosity, a void, or a crack in the casting, visible under magnification with no impact mark near it
- a solder seam that has opened along the join while the metal either side of it is undeformed
- a claw set short, thin, or unclosed at the bench, so the stone was never fully held
- a clasp, hinge, or catch that fails while being worked as it was designed to be worked
- a stone that has left its setting where the setting shows no bend, scrape, or flattening
- plating or finish that lifts in sheets or blisters rather than thinning evenly with use
And these are the signs of force or of use, which are not:
- a bent, flattened, or out-of-round shank
- a claw bent open, crushed, or worn to a stub
- a chipped, cracked, or abraded stone
- scratching, scuffing, or polish loss across a surface
- a chain, jump ring, or clasp pulled open under load
- a setting deformed around the point where the stone left it
Beyond that reading, the guarantee excludes the following, and nothing that is not named here:
- Normal wear. Shanks thin, claws wear down, polish dulls, and rhodium plating on white gold wears off with skin contact. This is metal behaving as metal does, and it is the owner's to maintain.
- Impact and accidental damage, however it happened and whether or not it was your fault. A knock against a door frame, a drop onto tile, a hand caught in a car door.
- A stone lost through a knock, a snag, or a claw worn down over time, rather than through a setting that was never closed.
- Resizing, retipping, restringing, cleaning, or any repair carried out by anyone other than us. Once another bench has worked on a piece we can no longer say what its condition was before, and the guarantee ends there.
- Alteration. Re-setting a stone, changing a shank, adding or removing metal, or engraving after delivery.
- Chemical and cosmetic damage. Chlorine and bromine, bleach and household cleaners, perfume, hairspray, self-tanner, and ultrasonic or steam cleaning performed anywhere but here.
- Use the piece was not made for. Sport, manual work, gardening, swimming, sleeping in earrings, and wearing a piece stacked hard against another.
- Loss, theft, and disappearance. These are matters for your insurer, not for a guarantee.
- Damage that follows from continuing to wear a piece after a fault appeared, to the extent the wearing made it worse.
Where the reading is genuinely ambiguous, we treat it as a making fault. And none of this displaces the guarantees you hold as a consumer in British Columbia and Canada, which apply to what we sold you whatever this page says.
Lab-grown, honestly
We do not offer trade-up on lab-grown stones, because we will not pretend they hold resale value. We price them accordingly from day one.
Care plans, coming
We are working on care plans for house pieces. They are not open yet, and we are not putting a date on it. We will say so here when they are.
The binding versions of these promises live in our Returns & The Guarantee policy and our Terms of Service. Delivery, insured door to door, is set out under Shipping & Delivery. Every piece in the collection is made to order. A piece bought by card carries 48 hours from payment in which to cancel for a full refund before production begins, and then 10 days from delivery in which to send the finished piece back, for house credit, plus 10% on a first return, or for your money, whichever you prefer. A piece bought through a written quote, above the direct-purchase limit and on every custom commission, has neither window: countersigning the quote begins production, and the piece is not refundable from that point, because a piece designed for one person cannot be offered to another. Product images are computer renders unless marked as photographs.
